Today marks the end of week #2. Officially down 9 pounds. NINE... NINE?!!??!! I am thrilled at the progress and I am feeling really good! Hips are down 2", bust is down 2", waist stalled at 1", but I will take it. Won't measure the rest for a while though. I actually look forward to waking up and getting on the scale every day (yes, I may be a little obsessive. I've never heard THAT before.. ) My jeans feel better, my clothes feel better, and I feel better!!
I have had a cold since last week. My dear, sweet, generous 8yr old brought it home from school and shared with me. That was nice of him, wasn't it?? Well, the good thing, and I think I have Plexus to thank for this, was that I had the symptoms - the stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat, raspy voice - but I didn't FEEL SICK. I didn't feel worn out. I never felt like I was walking through mud, like I so often do when I have a cold. I know this stuff is loaded with vitamins and other good things my body wants, and needs, and it seems to make a difference!
Another "WOW" moment.. I have put this very same 8yr old on the ProBio. He gets 1 pill a day, in yogurt, and has gotten them for 4 days now. This kiddo has had an issue with finishing his work on time during the school day. I have heard the same thing from every one of his teachers, from Pre-K till now. He does not use his time wisely, he gets distracted, he needs to focus.. I'm sure many of you have heard the same drill from teachers. Today, I asked him what his homework was for tonight. He said the only think he had to do was reading, and he had already finished that! I asked him why he had no homework - was there a sub today?? No, he said. He got it finished in school. HUH?? I asked him what was different today - he said he thought there were fewer distractions in the classroom. I said, really, today there were fewer distractions, or you were less distracted? He agreed he was probably less distracted, and thought that ProBio was helping him stay focused. WOOHOO!
One last thing I love about Plexus.. I know that, in order to really get in shape, I need to exercise. But I work full time, and I tutor every single afternoon, and I have a family to care for, dinner to cook, etc.. Rarely do I have the energy when I get home to go out for a walk. With Plexus in my life, I am NOT too tired, and tonight I enjoyed a fantastic 2.5 mile brisk walk at sunset, and let me tell you, the skies here in Arizona are unmatched when it comes to sunsets.. and MAN, am I happy I had the energy to get out and see that!

Lucky number 7
The scale had stalled for a few days. I was honestly frustrated because I was getting used to, and excited by, the scale moving even a little bit daily. Well, it started moving again today!! I am down 7 pounds and over 8.5 inches all over, and that's fabulous! I have lost 2 inches from my waist, 2 from my bust, and 2.5 from my hips! The rest is from limbs - legs, shins, arms..
I feel good, too - other than a nasty rotten cold that my youngest shared with me. But even that.. I'm not at 100% by any means, but I'm not down for the count, either. Usually with a cold, I can't sleep. Well, this time, falling asleep hasn't been easy, but staying asleep hasn't been an issue! I started logging my food, to make sure my calorie intake was on track, and I'm finding that I feel perfectly fine with a much lower calorie intake than ever before. I always had a hard time staying within my Points when I did WeightWatchers, and in order to stay below the threshold with other programs, I depended on the "extra" I'd get from exercise, but now, I am actually finding I need to eat a little MORE to meet the intake goal. I am perfectly satisfied with one bite of a cookie, not the whole thing! And I am shocked at myself, but I don't miss soda!! AT.. ALL...
And here's a cool side note.. I have been giving the Slim product to my son who is a Type 1 Diabetic. The product was originally created for Type 2s to help them maintain blood sugar control. I figured if it could help my Carb-Addict with his cravings, then I'd be delighted (the poor kid gravitates to anything that will raise his sugar levels). It's been going fine, and really, unless there is an issue with the pump, his numbers have not skyrocketed like they normally would..
But yesterday was the kicker.. he ate a package of pop tarts. 74 carbs of pure, refined sugariness. He forgot to cover for it. This usually means blood sugar readings that are off the charts, hours of trying to get him back in range, throwing enough insulin into the kid to stop a train... well, see for yourself - this is his CGM about 4 hours after he ate the dreaded pop tart. NO SPIKE... none at all. I have no words, just - WOW...

Now, I'm clearly not a doctor, nor am I a nutritionist.. I'm just the momma of a diabetic. I can't say for sure what caused this abnormally LOW level increase in his blood sugars with any more certainty than I can say what causes him to go through the roof. It could be a fluke.. It could be because the planets are aligned in his favor, or it is a day that ends with the letter "Y". Or it could be that Plexus Slim is actually having a positive effect on his blood sugars, just like it was originally intended to do!

Week one, done!
I started Plexus on a Tuesday, so today marks a full week. So far, so good.. The scale didn't move today, but considering what I had for dinner last night (hotdogs and beans... not a stellar choice, I know) I am not really surprised. Can you say sodium overload? I am also walking a LOT, and FAST, enough that my legs are sore, and I know muscle, inch for inch, weighs more than fat, so can we all agree that I may be putting some muscle back on?? Pretty please? :)
I still cannot get over the lack of heartburn. I know I mentioned it before, but seriously, this is a great side effect!! I was very used to popping a Zantac or some equivalent every night. If I didn't, MAN, I would pay later in the night! The only issue I have had was the day I took my Accelerator with out any food.. I now fully understand why they say take it with food!
I am also a lot more willing (able??) to pass by food choices that would derail me... cookies for dessert in the house?? Have not touched one. The left over Peppermint bark I have hanging around hidden from children?? Not really even tempted. (And if you know me and my LOVE for chocolate, you might see how huge this is!)
The water continues to be a challenge, but I found a bottle that holds 24 ounces, and I know I need 4 of them, and I will make it work!
I have read a lot of testimonials from others who are using all the products (The probio is next on my list) and am excited to use my kids as guinea pigs - hearing lots of good outcomes from using the Probio with kids. We all tested positive for Candida yeast, and it will be interesting to see if that is what is keeping the boys a bit unfocused. As we go, I will keep everyone posted!

Almost a full week...
I was delighted to see the scale move again today, and I am down a total of 5.5 pounds and have shed 5.5 inches from my waist, hips, bust and thighs. Lots to go still, but it's all moving toward my goal!!
It is a beautiful day here so I took a 3.5 mile walk. I have the energy to do this, without feeling all jittery. In fact, I don't feel jittery at all... I just don't dread doing things like going for a long walk. I also don't feel that I NEED a nap. Another plus is that my hip, which has bothered me for the last three years, isn't bothering me as much. It used to be when I would walk long distances, it would ache so badly that I would want to stop. I can still feel it, but it sure didn't stop me! I am very glad that I live in an urbanized area of this town, because i did have to stop to use the bathroom twice on the walk.. all that water!!

Let the journey begin...
It's a new year, and it is time for a new me! Last week, I started using PLEXUS SLIM, and I am going to chronicle my experiences with this product. It is my goal to loose a small child worth of weight, and to do it in a way that doesn't make me either crazy or unhealthy.
I had been hearing friends of mine talking about their fantastic results with this product, and it got me very excited, so I signed up as an Ambassador (meaning I can sell the stuff) mostly so that I can get the product at the cheapest price. I am on day 5 now, and I am already down 5 pounds and 5.5 inches from my hips, bust and waist. Sure, it is mostly water, and I get that, but it is encouraging nonetheless!
And here's the thing - I feel good! I don't get hungry, I have energy for my day, my heartburn is gone (I was living on Zantac, but I also quit drinking soda, and that could be the reason I don't need the Zantac daily any more). So far, I am really beyond delighted with this..
Using Plexus is so simple. It is a mix that I put in with water first thing in the morning, before I have breakfast. It tastes to me just like a cherry tootsie pop. The first day I even found it to be a little too sweet, and I had added only 12 ounces of water. I now add 20 and that seems to be perfect for me. Next, when I eat breakfast, and then when I eat lunch, I take the Accelerator. It boosts energy and metabolism.
The hardest part is there is a water requirement that I am still trying to meet - you are supposed to drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces per day. I can get close, but I have yet to actually get it all in. Yes, I run to the bathroom every 20 minutes for part of the morning, but I know after time my body will get used to it.
Other benefits I have noticed.. As I mentioned, no heartburn, and that energy, which are both great... I've also noticed that I feel a lot less bloated than I was before.
They have a lot of products that I am excited to try on both myself, and my kids.. The purpose of this blog is to track how it all goes...
